Get Ready For Retirement

Being ready to retire means more than being ready to stop waking up at 6:00 a.m. to put in long hours at a job you’re not thrilled about. If it were that simple, most of us would retire at 25. What it really takes to retire is a solid grasp of your budget, a carefully considered investment and spending plan for your life savings, debt that’s under control, and a plan you’re excited about for how you’ll spend your days.

Financial Advice That You Can Trust

Andrew Bramley has been within the financial services industry for over 26 years, having previously studied law as a post-graduate and worked for one of the East Midlands leading law firms during the mid-1980s.

He enjoyed partnership status with a large reputable brokerage for several years prior to heading the East Midlands Division of a large national IFA.

He is well respected within the legal and accountancy circles and believes the main reason for the rapid growth and expansion of Andrew Bramley Ltd since its inception is due solely to the individual services and care provided by himself and the administration staff.

Are you independent?

Yes. Andrew Bramley Limited is fully independent.

We’re also chartered financial planners. There are only about 700 chartered financial planners in the UK. What does this actually mean though? Why is working with a chartered financial planner better for our clients?

Chartered Financial Planner status is regulated by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

We are also one of the few firms authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to give pension advice on occupational pension scheme transfers.

To gain Chartered status the financial planner must take the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS) and also have five or more years of experience. The APFS can only be entered after taking the Diploma in Financial Planning or Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

The APFS is a tough course requiring around 1000 hours of study capped by a three-hour exam. Having chartered status illustrates both extensive experience and a serious commitment. Additionally, chartered financial planners have to do about 35 hours a year continuing professional development – seminars, webinars, one-to-one sessions and such.

An organisation can be awarded a Corporate Chartered title in financial planning. This covers the whole business and is awarded based on the organisation being ‘competent, knowledgeable and ethical in their dealings. Corporate Chartered Financial Planner status is given to businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to the professional development of their employees and engage on an ongoing basis with the CII. Chartered status illustrates a high level of integrity, trust, ethics and professionalism.

Do you have qualifications that are above the minimum you’re required to take?

We don’t really have such a thing as a ‘typical client’. Our clients come from all walks of life and backgrounds – and may first come to us at the age of 35 or the age of 75.

We treat each contact and client on an individual basis according to a range of criteria – age, working status, pension position, investments they may have and a number of other things. Our job is to then drill down to understand their position and look to advise on how they can best position themselves for the future. We really need to get a full understanding of a client’s position, what they want and their attitude to risk. We never assume anything.

Most of our business comes through referrals. We build long-standing, trusting relationships with our clients. We’re advisers, not salespeople.

Do you have many clients who are in a similar position to me?

We deal with a variety of clients, all from different backgrounds. If you’d like to find out if we have somebody with your direct experience, please get in touch by clicking here.

Will you give me ongoing advice and what will this cost?

We do give ongoing Financial Advice, our costs will be discussed in our initial meetings, you can book one of them by clicking here.
